# Collect Mobile Crashing when Setting Working Directory

Dear OF Team,

every time I try to change the working directory in´the OF Collect Mobile settings, the app crashes. This happens on 3 different devices (2 with SD, 1 w/out SD card). Any idea what could be the cause?

Dear Alex,  
In the latest version of Collect Mobile 1.7.9 [193] the working directory selector has been improved so you can easily switch between internal or external storage (the custom location selection instead is still causing problems in Android 11, we will fix it soon).   
Please update it and let us know if you still have issues with that.

Dear Bryant,  
Please update Collect Mobile to the latest version 1.7.9 (build 214).  
With the new version you will be able to set a custom location for the working directory even using Android 11+.

Hello Open Foris Team, 

I am having the same problem changing the working directory. I am using the most recent version of Collect Mobile (1.7.9[210]) on a tablet running Android 12. I just tested on a different device that runs Android 10, and I was able to successfully change the working directory. Do you know what might be causing this?

Do you have an error while you try to change the working directory? Does the app crash when you select one of the options? Or the change doesn't take place?

Either nothing happens, and I am redirected to the home page of the app, or the app crashes.

We will apply some changes to the app to make it fully compatible with Android 12 (that has some more security restrictions compared to Android 10).
