# Importing .cep in the newest version of Collect Earth Online

Dear OpenForis Community,

From what I read on the release notes, the newer versions of Collect Earth Online supports importing .cep project files. However, I wasn't able to load the survey questions on Collect Earth Online after I selected the .cep file on the Project Creation Wizard. I am aware that such support was unavailable in the previous version as confirmed by a relevant [question][1] dated in 2021.

Hello, 

Thank you for reaching out. I just sent you an email as well. Yes, you can import .cep files during the first steps in project creation. If you could please send us the .cep file when you have a moment, we can help troubleshoot the issue.

One additional note: You may be aware, but we will be releasing a new interface for CEO. However, you will still be able to import Collect Earth projects. More information about the update is in our latest blog posts: https://www.collect.earth/blog/

> Thanks for your response, Shanna. Unfortunately I was unable to send the file over email because somehow it is marked as a security threat. I thought replacing the .cep file extension by .zip would solve the problem but unfortunately it did not. Do you mind sharing some information on how to send the .cep file please? The absence of "grid" folder within the .cep file seems to be the issue. Thanks for pointing this out, OpenForis Support Team
