I have a couple questions regrading how to insert the photo into Collect.

I guess that photos can be inserted to Collect using the "file" attribute. My question is that the photo is stored in the database table or under an separate folder.

Once the photo is inserted into the Collect, is it possible to open or view the photo inside the Collect desktop?

Photos are very important for my field work, i just want to figure out how i should design the table structure for my survey.

Thanks,

Jinkai

Hi Jinkai,
the uploaded files and photos in Collect Desktop are stored in the file system under a folder inside c:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\data\upload and are divided by survey and attribute. The is no way to browse all the photos but you can see them when you edit a record (previously collected using Collect Mobile or the desktop application itself).
Soon we will add a sort of photo manager to Collect, but it will be available by the end of this year.
Thanks,
