Hi open-foris team!

I would like to create a list of plots to be assessed by individual field teams. I am thinking about following procedure:

  1. Import list of plots, how it is described in the Arena manual: Annex 6. Plot Grid Generator in making spatial Sampling Point Data. In addition, I will add a column for "team" to each plot.
  2. Create another category table for the team <-> user relationship. Each user will have email - the same email used to log in to the mobile app.
  3. Check in Arena (mobile): selected plot "team" is the same like "team" for actually logged user

Is this a good idea? Is it possible to refer to actually logged user in Arena (mobile) checks?

Thank you in advance, Jiri.

Dear Jiri,
Many thanks for your question; ths is actually a very good idea, we are already planning to add a couple of new custom functions to extract the name and the email address of the current/logged user; these functions could be named userName() and userEmail() and you can use them to check if the selected plot "team" is equal to the name of the logged user. Would it be good for you?
Many thanks,

Dear Jiri,
Yes, you can use the custom function now() to create some validation rules that compare date values with the current date and make some part of the survey relevant or not relevant depending on the specified condition.
Let us know if you need further help from our side.
Also please have a look to the Arena user manual to get some examples on how to use the epression language to define validation rules.
Many thanks,

Thank you,

I think such functions would be useful for the mentioned use-case.

Moreover, we were thinking about some time plan for plots assessment... let's say that some set of plots (for example covering whole territory -- to be representative) need to be visited in spring and the rest in autumn... for this, again, we can generate some range (two dates) in list of plots and check then whether current date (in device) (such a function is available?) is within specified range.

Thanks for considering!

J.
