Hello Open Foris team,

In Collect, it was possible to use an expression in the min (or max) count fields, but it appears that this functionality is no longer available in Arena. I would like to be able to reference an attribute or an "extra" field from a category in the min/max count fields for a multiple entity. Is this possible?

Thank you,

Bryant

Dear Bryant,
We have started to work on this already in Arena (and Arena Mobile) and we will let you know soon when this feature will be ready.
Many thanks,

Dear Bryant,
the new version of Arena is in up and running. You will be able to use expressions in min/max count fields and it will work in Arena Mobile (Experiments) too.
Many thanks,

Dear Bryant,
We are still working on this feature. By the end of January 2025 it will be ready to be used in both Arena and Arena Mobile (Experiments at least) and for sure this is a very helpful feature!
Thanks,
Open Foris Team

Thank you so much! I will check back on this feature in late Jan or Feb!

Hi Stefano,

I am checking in on this feature. Do you still think it will be possible to use an expression in the min_ or max_count fields of a multiple entity?

My survey is used for a repeated-design reforestation study. Trees were planted in organized rows, and our data collectors always work in a defined order through the rows. I have designed the survey so certain identifying information for the next tree automatically populates when a new record is added (by referencing extra properties from a category). If I could use an expression in the min_count field (that would reference an extra property in a category), I could pre-populate the entire table for all trees. This would dramatically improve efficiency and useability.

Thank you for considering this helpful feature!
