Hi,

I am having trouble when "merging" records from Arena Mobile Experiments on two different devices. Ideally, we would like to be able to collect data for the same plot on multiple tablets, upload them on mobile, and combine the attributes collected on multiple tablets. This would maintain the values from both of the tablets.

For example, currently if I collect:

(Tablet 1): "Comments" = "RED" (Tablet 2): "Comments" = "BLUE"

... when merging, the end result will be "RED". We would like it to instead be something like "RED, BLUE"

We have noticed that when the "multiple" box is checked within the "node definition", the result when merging from two data sources is that the value from the checked box attribute on the SECOND device is maintained and when the "Multiple" box is not checked, the value from the FIRST device is maintained.

Is there a way for merging to function in the desired way?

Dear user,
Merging the text attributes in the way you are seeing will be quite tricky from our side.
Instead, we can modify the way it works now for multiple attributes; if the attribute is of type code, we can keep the values from the "second" device, otherwise if it's text or numeric we can keep both values.
Let us know if it will fit your needs.
Many thanks,
