Hi everyone,

A little context: We are designing a form to collect data on shrub plots in California. In each plot (30x30m), we have a subplot (3x30m).

The question is as follows:

I have a table where I collect information, at the individual level, on the shrubs in a subplot (3x30m). This information includes, among other things, the species (taxon). So, we generate a table with "x" records at the individual level (where there can be more than one individual of a species). Separately, we have another table where we collect information on the species richness of the entire plot (30x30m). This ends up being a list of species present in the plot.

We would like the species identified in the subplot to be added directly to the species richness table (plot), and from this information, the field team could complete the table with the remaining species identified in the plot. Is that possible?

Thank you so much, as always, for the fantastic work you're doing!!

Oscar

Dear Oscar,
At the moment, we don't offer this feature in Arena.
What you could do is to:
- fill the shrubs data (from the mobile app and upload it to the server, or directly in the Arena UI);
- export the shrubs data in Excel;
- filter the unique species from the exported data;
- import it into Arena, into the other entity related to the species richness table;
- from the mobile app, download the updated record and continue editing it, filling the missing information;

This approach would work if during the data collection process you can have a break, submit the data to the Arena server, then modify the data in Arena and import it back into Arena Mobile.
Many thanks,
