Hi team,

I recently updated Collect on my computer but now it will not startup. Tomcat starts but the chrome window hangs and does not load.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers.

Dear Liam,
Can you share with us the log files so we can understand what can be the problem?
These files are: C:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\logs\catalina.out and C:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\webapps\collect\logs\collect.log.
Sometimes it can happen that after the update Collect won't startup.
You can try to follow these steps:
1. Shutdown Collect
2. Delete the folder C:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\webapps\collect
3. Delete the CONTENT of the folder C:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\temp (not the folder itself)
4. Startup Collect
This is a sort of cleaning operation that can be performed at any time to clean the temporary files.
Let us know if you still have problems starting up Collect or please accept this answer if it solves your problem.
Many thanks.

On this note, to avoid these kind of issues, Collect should NOT BE RUNNING when you proceed to UPDATE it!! In newer version of the Collect updater it will just not allow you tu run it if Collect is not turned off...

Hi Joseph,
Can you try to update to the latest version of Collect (3.11.5) ? Let us know if you still encounter problems after the update process.
Thanks,
Stefano

I had the same problem several times with updating to a new version, solved it with step 2 only: deleting C:\opt\openforis\collect\tomcat\webapps\tomcat\collect Can this become a standard part of the update/programme?

Hi Joseph,
This is what the updater was supposed to do already... We will check it's behavior and we'll try to fix it for the next release.
Thanks,

Updating 3.11.5 is working fine! If other java apps are already active (such as Apache HTTP server httpd.exe) they need also to be deactivated first (in Task manager). Thanks, Joseph
