Hello,

We have collected thousands of photos for over 850 sampling points in five rangelands over 3 weeks using Open Arena. We used 4 tablets by Blackview, Active 8 Pro models. We have activated location at the start of the fieldwork and assumed that this activation applied to all apps listed under privacy, but it unfortunately turned out that, for this device, camera required a specific second settings to allows GPS tagging of pictures. We discovered this issue a bit too late and now have only about half of collected photos untagged.

I was wondering whether Open Arena platform has any settings/features that may allow retrospective GPS tagging of photos using the coordinates contemporaneously recorded for the same point?

Thanks, Mohamud

Dear Mohamud,
In case in your survey you have a coordinate attribute, we could try to associate that coordinate to the image metadata. There is no other way to retrieve this data.
Let us know, many thanks.

One option to geotag images is to apply suitable tools, see a good story at https://smart.dhgate.com/complete-guide-to-how-to-geotag-pictures-for-enhanced-photo-organization-and-sharing/
