I am working on deep learning approaches in remote sensing image classification for my PhD thesis and I need some reference maps for training. I became interested in Collect Earth package when I read some titles about it, but now that I read more on its tutorial I see that this is basically a tool to facilitate landcover/landuse data entry in a more accurate and easy way. So it is not generating the reference landcover maps, but we can build training data sets by interpreting the imagery ourselves on a defined grid of points. Is my understanding right? And if right, is there any sample landcover reference maps publicly available in Collect Earth app for use?
