In Collect Mobile, when I try to backup a survey, a popup message tells me "Please insert SD card to store backup on" while a card is available. When I press OK, the backup is saved on internal storage. How can I get a backup on my SD card I could restore if my device crashes ? asked 10 Oct '19, 09:33 jeromev |
Dear Jerome,
In order to restore the data, you can insert the "old" SD card into the device; when you start up Collect Mobile you will see all the old data. answered 11 Oct '19, 09:24 Stefano (OF) ♦♦ |
On my Samsung XCover 4 (Android 9), it does not work. Nothing is recorded on the SD card. The application never asks me for permission to write to an external storage. answered 11 Oct '19, 10:23 jeromev |

Hello, I just tested on a new device. The application asks me for permission to access storage to read my survey file but never ask me for permission to write on external storage. answered 16 Oct '19, 09:39 jeromev I just read that permission storage includes writing to external storage. Permission is therefore granted. When I run the backup function, the storage files are created in the internal memory. On the memory card the directory android/data/org.openforis.collect is created but it contains only an empty cache directory.
