Hi, I downloaded the latest version of Collect Earth and installed it on my computer after disabling Gatekeeper (sudo spctl --master-disable). I clicked on the launcher and collect earth disappears from on my toolbar for 5 seconds. I am running macOS Mojave 10.14 on a Macbook Pro 2015. I have Google Earth installed and am able to run it. Is there any fix? asked 16 Feb '20, 23:15 vac |
We have now released a new version 1.10.11 which you need to download again from our website. To be in the safe side, delete the contents of the current Collect Earth installation in the folder ~/OpenForis/CollectEarth (don't worry if there was data from a previous version this is stored in a differeent folder ) This new installer has the right version of Java and it should run fine in your mac! answered 17 Feb '20, 13:44 Open Foris ♦♦ It still doesnt work :( the application just stays running / launching :((

Hi, That sounds like a problem with permissions. Could you try open a terminal window, then go to the folder ~/OpenForis/CollectEarth and run the command:
Please write back with the results. Make sure that the .\java\bin\java file has run permissions. In the meantime we will try to fix this issue although it is installing and running fine in the macOS Mojave we use for testing. Thanks for the feedback! answered 17 Feb '20, 00:01 collectearth ♦ It tells me that update.ini is not found. It also says that "The server could not start" I was able to run the jarfile.

Hi again Vac. Please try deleting the current installation of Collect Earth. Open the file explorer and in your user folder you will find the OpenForis folder. Go in there and completely remove the CollectEarth folder Download the newest version from our website (1.10.12) and install again. Remember that to install you need to click on the installer with the shift key pressed and then choose the "Open" action on the contextual menu ( see this post on installing in Mac ) answered 28 Feb '20, 10:33 Open Foris ♦♦ |
