Dear support,

I recently received a cep file from a colleague. When I ran the cep file Collect Earth kicked out an error with the kml. I updated both Collect and Collect Earth thinking this would solve the issue (this usually works). I now find that I am unable to run any cep file. I downloaded an example cep file from the Open Foris website. When I run the cep the Collect Earth logo is presented on the screen, it stays there for a couple of seconds and then disappears. I have tried to update Google Earth but could not. Have there been any recent updates to CE that would require a newer version of Google Earth pro?

Many thanks, Wesley

Dear Wesley,

CEP files are always backwards compatible with old versions of the software, so an update of Collect Earth should not produce any issues.

You can send the current CEP that you are trying to load to collectearth at gmail punto com so we can take a closer look!

Many thanks for the response, I have emailed both the cep and the collect file to the above mentioned address. I dont think it is the cep file as I tested my installation with a cep file from the openforis website.

Regards, Wesley

Dear Wesley, Could you also send the log file where any exceptions should have been registered? You find it in the Collect Earth menu Help->Open Application log

If you cannot open Collect Earth the file is located at C:\Users*YOUR USERNAME*\AppData\Roaming\CollectEarth and it is called earth_error.log

Thank you!
