Dear OF-team,

I have started to notice that OF Collect looses the coordinate entries overnight.

It sometimes happens that we cannot complete a sampling unit within one day. In this case I would close Collect on my phone and reopen it the next day. Most often, though, all coordinates taken the previous day will be lost at that point and the corresponding fields are empty.

I haven't quite figured out after what time precisely they disappear. When I close and reopen Collect within short intervals, all coordinates are correctly kept. Also, the coordinate fields are the only ones to loose data, the problem hasn't occurred in any other field. To further complicate things, sometimes not all coordinates are lost overnight. It seems to me that there is no clear pattern. What is a matter of fact, though, is that most often, most coordinates are lost the next day when closing Collect overnight.

Did you ever come across this problem? Any thoughts how to solve this?

Thanks in advance, Jan

Dear Jan,
It's the first time that we hear something like this.
In Collect Mobile there is nothing that deletes the data overnight or anything like that.
When you edit a stored record, the data is fetched from the internal database of Collect Mobile, and every time you should see the same information.
We will contact you to your private email to better understand the issue.
Many thanks,
Open Foris Team
